Plug wires? Are they new or recently replaced with good quality wires?

An easy way to see if this is it is next time it rains, hose down all of the plug wires with WD40. WD40 will displace the water, which on worn wires can cause misfiring and spark leakage. If it runs fine again after applying WD40, get new wires. I also regularly clean my wires off (like after every race weekend) with WD40 shot in a rag, just wipe down the outside; this keeps them clean (oil can degrade them) and pretty and also gives me the excuse to inspect them... will soon have to have one boot replaced (they're under lifetime warranty from Magnecor) due to heat damage... new with the header, think I'm going to have to run some fiberglass sleeves... it's cracked (but only one wire).

Check the cap. Wires also of course I agree with Vaughan.
A hair line crack in the distributor cap will also cause this problem.

I was wondering if you get some time,if you could write a brief overview of whats involved in getting into scca. oh and maybe a ballpark figure of the cost.thanks
