|
|
Hey guys, I'm back to summon the Porsche parents.
On today's episode of wtf has the PO done to Poppy: I discovered the side markers are also redneck wired and the sockets to hold the marker light to the body inside of the rubber boot no longer exist. Further inspection shows a lovely rats nest of wiring.
Can I adapt an '88 924 (I think N/A) wiring harness to Poppy for the side markers and possibly the headlights? Follow up question, how much of the 88 harness could be adapted as I want to fix the redneck wiring job as much as possible.
Also, based on pure stares and vibes (with some research), it looks like the sockets and harness should work between the cars. Am I crazy?
Sorry if you're offended by being called a parent, but when I talk about the forums I always say I've summoned my Porsche parents. Also my slight sarcasm throughout my posts are the only thing keeping me sane with Poppy _________________ Just trying my best to figure this out without total failure

Update: Poppy at some point in her life, guessing prior to my acquiring, tried to catch herself on fire because the battery is too big and grounded out on the hood. Love that for me.... I've found conflicting info on battery size so I guess time to ask: what size batteries everyone else runs?
Additionally, after awakening her from a week long slumber, letting her run for a couple minutes to recharge the alternator, she then proceeded to smoke from the positive terminal after being turned off.
uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh not sure wtf that means but definitely not good. If anyone has any ideas what to do, they would be greatly appreciated _________________ Just trying my best to figure this out without total failure

I use the normal 60AH type battery, I just cut slots in the sides of the plastic covers for the terminals to allow the cables to exit. So even if the bonnet does contact it's insulated. |

That's a great idea, thank you! I'll have to do some measuring and see what dimensions will work in here _________________ Just trying my best to figure this out without total failure
