Can definitely see how much the original foam has shrunk vs. new; the driver's base has a decently snug fit over the new foam, but the other panels need more work or will need a re-touch.

I'd definitely advise anyone planning to reuse the old foams (and the rest of mine were, generally, in decent enough shape to do so) to plan to add more foam over the top - buy a sheet and spray-glue on - to make up for the loss of volume over the years.

I definitely will do this with mine if they don't smooth out more with time and steam... but not in a rush, have much more urgent things to deal with now!

That pattern looks so good, how does the fabric feel? I hope you can get it less wrinkly without to much hassle.

My knees hurt by that wheel position, have you tried spacing out the wheel, makes such a massive difference I guess you have something in the race car parts bin

LOL! I don't have an issue with the wheel position... for better and for worse, it's a smaller diameter than stock. So more knee room... but hard to see some of the gauges, and even more steering effort. ESPECIALLY with the massive front tires I have now! So not ideal... but I can certainly live with it.

The fabric is lovely, like it so much more than full leather - it's softer and friendlier, if that makes sense. Do need to get some protectant on it ASAGDMFP. Same for the leather, to be sure.

Though I will say this new leather is much softer, more supple, and friendlier as well than old factory seats... those always felt too stiff to me, not entirely comfortable. This is much nicer.

For filling them out - when time again permits, I'll have a go with the steamer for a round... but I suspect the foam volume loss is so much that I'll need to either add more overlayer of foam then reinstall, or just buy new foams. So of course much more likely to do the former, for budget.

But that'll have to wait a couple of months; I have two race weekends and a business trip in-between, as well as other cars in need of fixing outright. So cosmetics are back to the bottom of the list!
