Gearing up to finally tackle the abused seats in my 931 (which no longer match the rest of the interior anyway, having switched over to black, so overdue to replace).

Added wrinkle seems to be that somewhere along the line, before I got it, the car was updated with Sport seats from a 911 ('84 era or so). Which means ordering the covers takes a little extra care...

I also have blown out seat base foam, thanks to the seams tearing.

I've located a couple of sources in the UK, can anyone speak to having worked with them?
https://nineseriesclassics.co.uk/

www.lakewell.com

Both have the seat foam replacement as well as covers, but Nine Series Classics seems to be notably less expensive than Lakewell.

Seriously tempted to get the Martini colour scheme done up to fit my seats; to go to all that trouble only to end up with completely stock-looking seats seems a bit underwhelming.

Now if only I could plan an inevitable work trip (go over there not infrequently), could save some on shipping and time spent marinating in US Customs...

https://only944.com/partscatalog/only/seatcovers/front944-82-85/

I bought the seat covers in my car from Only944.
There’s an option to select sport seat covers at an additional cost.

I bought seat foam for the drivers seat bottom through my local Porsche dealer. Took a while for it to ship from Germany.

Have placed an order with Nine Series Classics for a custom build plus replacement foam for the driver's base.

Now to wait; lead time is 9 weeks, because custom. But it should be worth it.

Details and pics when I get 'em and install - no hints until!

The pics on their website are impressive.

They are - a large part of why I chose to go with them.

But no, I didn't go for the Martini style, as good as it looks. Something a bit more unusual/custom, and should fit better with the car.

Two more weeks. Then probably another 1-2 weeks for shipping, depending on how slow US Customs is working! Though I may have to delay shipping since I myself will be out of country... don't need to get hassled remotely by customs brokers!

Cool. I am really interested in the foams. The only944 site or really Seatz.com will let you supply fabric and they will make the covers for the same price. I'm thinking of going this route for the Weissach, since the matching fabric is non-existent

It sounds rather like the foams may be just re-pops of factory parts, and if that's all you're after you may be better off getting them domestically from a local dealer...

I was looking to figure out the Weissach fabric - is it like a tan velour?

Here is my post on pelican. some pics lower down. Its a dark brown tweed and a "light tan" tweed that is really 2 colors, found by folding the seats forward. I am confident my pictures of this are the only ones that exist on the internet. The folded seat pics are the best representation before sun fading.

Just completed the nine-week wait; got in touch, and it seems there was a little bit of a delay due to availability of the insert material I selected... but it's on hand now, so production can go ahead... meantime I'm about to take off on a two-week work trip (to go play with those really expensive Porcheys), so I've asked them to not rush production, and aim for delivery early July to me...

Starting to get excited, the car's really gonna start to look sharp with these fitted... rest assured I will have pics, though it'll probably take a good month between shipment through customs, install time, and a lot of other travel on my plate...

Some delays along the way, no great shock - but the covers arrived today, along with new base foam for the driver's seat. Look wonderful, worth the time and money; will post pics when fitted, but no teasers in advance!

I replaced the seat foam when I recovered my seats and it made a big difference. Have you recovered seats before? I had to learn along the way...it took a while. I found that a decent pair of hog ring pliers makes a difference....I have one left over from my project if you need it.

Seats are done and in! Still need time and heat to massage wrinkles, but that's no biggie, and we have plenty of warm days ahead.

As noted, these are from Nine Series Classics in Stone, UK.

They're black leather with Blue Karo Madras tartan inserts, plus the stainless latch replacements from Only944. Numerous other upgrades in sight, starting with a new factory dash from Porsche. Rennline fire bottle holder. Momo Prototypo steering wheel. Stainless "Turbo" shifter insert and hand brake button on the late 944 park brake handle, also Only944. Do still need to make a proper boost knob mount and reinstall the AC modesty panel, which will let me tuck in all those extra wires from the Microsquirt conversion.
