I bought a 1980 924 2.0L N/A. I have had it for about 2 years trying to fix it up and I have just given up on the CIS fuel system. I am just wondering if there is an easy way to swap it out for like a carburetor or EFI? I am mostly looking for a carburetor conversion kit and have not found one. If anyone knows where to get one just let me know. Thanks for the help.

Weber have side draft carb conversion kit for 924 and the924.com offers a bolt-on EFI solution.

I must say that the CIS system is really good and reliable once sorted. Most problem are usually related to faulty or wrong fuel pump providing outside specs fuel pressure, or the fuel metering unit/distributor and/or the Warm-Up regulator (WUR) needing rebuilds. Once those 3 components are sorted, and you have good injector, ignition timing and o2 mixture, very little could go wrong. Oh, and don't forget to check for vacuum leaks.

Either route you choose to go, the cost will likely be about the same (assuming you need a fuel pump as well as a fuel distributor and WUR rebuild).

Cheers
