Somebody point me in the right direction. I bought a pretty nice '82 931 last year. The tranaxle was out with a busted diff but it started easily and idled nicely. Last week I installed a used 5-speed and had to replace the clutch slave. Fixed some of the hoses and elbows that were obviously cracked and leaking. It was unusually difficult to start but it did. I put it in reverse and it stumbled and died. I was able to keep it running but very roughly. Pulled the plugs and it looked like they had been dipped in salt water they were so rusty and sooted. PO must not have had routine maintenence and tune-ups high on his list! Drove it up and down the road and it just chugged and backfired. Last night I changed the plugs, rotor and distributor cap. It still runs like doo-doo. I have to order new wires and change the oil. Ihave not yet timed it. Should I hear the fuel pump runnung? Do the injectors click like a 914?

Am I on the right track to complete the tune-up or is there some mysterious Porsche only voodoo at work here?

There is probably a fuel problem, poor mixture or pressure.

Hey, Still pissed or can I ask a question? How the heck do I get the injectors out. No matter where I put the wrenches the rigdig fuel line begins to twist. It's going to break if I continue. Shouldnt the top nut spin free of the fuel line when it loosens?

dude? pissed at what???

the injectors on the 931 i got out with just wrenches...cresent wrenches...it should be easier on the 924 without the turbo ducting!

i usually jam the wrench on the cyl head and leave it there while turning the other wrench...
