Ok so stupid question the # on my old fuse box is 171 941 813, I was wondering if a fuse box with # 477 941 813 would fit or if it's the same thing? Mine is toasted and I need a new one. _________________ '79 Euro 924 |

The 171 model is a VW Golf(Rabbit) part, the 477 no is the part listed for the 924. The Golf part will fit, but it depends on the suffix A to D. The two are probably essentially similar considering the 924 VW ancestry.
I was always under the impression that parts beginning 477 were VW parts anyway? _________________ 1984 n/a Ruby Red Metallic

I've always been tempted to switch these between the cars since I have both, and see if it will run.
It now seems you've already done what I had in mind?
Or is your wiringloom behind the fusebox a hack job?

Toofah: Optical difference, the white rear plate.
477 941 813
Same amount of pins, same groups,
different purpose on some of the pins!
But if your wiring loom looks uncut, it would mean it is plug-n-play?
Kind regards,

Reading old fusebox messages as I try to work out how to repair/ replace my fusebox.
When i compare the 171941813 vs 477941813 fusebox, the rear pin outs look substantially different between the two. I'm sure it's possible to make the 171 part work, woudl require substantial rewiring. This is a pity as you can purchase new VW fuseboxes ... no source found for new 924 ones at this stage. |

| Appreciate the heads up Mclaren. I've ordered some parts to repair my exisiting fuse box. If it works I'll post the details on the board. If it fails, I might take you up on your offer. |
