Hi guys,
wonder if anyone could lend a hand with issues my 2.0 NA is having (its a Euro car, I'm in the UK). the car is down on power, hesitating below 2k rpm and has a miss at idle, not constant just a rock of the car every 5 seconds. once or twice its also just started idling at 400rpm out of nowhere and then fixed itself after being left 30 mins.
I've performed the usual pressure tests on the Kjet system and ignition system. all components in both are new top to bottom and appear to be in spec. No vac leaks too.
When I did a compression test I got these figures. 149,153,155,169. Engine was lukewarm, driven a couple of hours prior. Leakdown test shows all under 20%.
that 168 is odd, usually you see one cylinder significantly lower not higher. could I have excessive carbon buildup in that cylinder? the plugs in all cylinders show perfect running across the board. about 500ml oil consumed per 1500 miles
Any suggestions re the compression and the above driving issues greatly appreciated. _________________ Thanks! |
