some of the panels aren't there (weren't there when I bought the car). and it looks like they just stay on with the bend-able metal tabs.

My question is, is there a good adhesive-based heat shielding I can get to replace them with?

Just want to make sure that I'm getting the right thing, as I'm unsure just how much heat is generated, and I want whatever I get to put on there able to withstand it.

My 931 is long gone, but the only one I remember held in by tabs was situated to protect the strut tower. There was nothing magic about it, just a piece of thin sheet metal with toxic fuzz facing the body.

There was a piece protecting the motor mount. . .do you have that one? And a couple tin bits protecting the torque tube?

I used Zircotec self adhesive film for chassis rail and strut tower to avoid paint bubbling with heat of the manifold and turbo. Didn't bother with anything around waste gate area or firewall

After lots of searching, I settled on various products from DEI from Avon Lake, Ohio. Worked well and still adhering many years later.

Yeah, DEI makes good stuff.

I've also liked the gold foil stuff that Pegasus sells; excellent quality adhesive, which is key, and seems to be pretty good for heat rejection.

Reasonable price too, IMO - though I've only been using it on the racecars, not the Turbo. Lots of stuff all over for my prototype, since that has serious heat production and minimal airflow, but also for the starter heat shield on the '79 NA 924 racecar.
