Busy with renewal of the spark plugs, cabels and distributor and found the following on the existing items;
Spark plugs with built-in resistor (Bosch WR6)
Cables (Bremi) with 1Kohm and metal plug of 5Kohm
Bosch rotor with 1Kohm of resistance .
Is this all to original specs ?
To me it seems a lot of resistance all together
What do you guys recommend, which type of spark plugs and set of cables for my 1983 924 with 2.0 engine

I would rather go with NGK BPR6ES, its equivalent to WR6, but I have had better luck with NGK. _________________ /Magnus, Stockholm Sweden

Thanks Magnus for your swift response.
Do you have sparke plug cables with or without resistance? _________________ Porsche 924 1983restored

Both the Bosch and NGK has a resistor (indicated by the R) to help and suppress electronic interferance.
I have MSD wires that has carbon core wire so they have a high resistance compared with copper core wires, But my ignition system is not stock.
In general you want as low resistance as possible for maximum energy to the spark plug, but carbon core wires works well in the 924. _________________ /Magnus, Stockholm Sweden
