The driver's seat in my 931 is pretty torn up, primarily on the bolster in the usual place. I'm looking for a reasonably inexpensive solution for now, and I see some seat back cushions on eBay. It's just the back part, and is from an '84 944. Can that be made to work? Or is it more trouble than it's worth?
To complicate matters further I'm not entirely sure I have the proper 924 seats in my car ('82). The cover in the "headrest area" is seamed like the inner seat cushions, which I've seen before, but not commonly. But first things first...if my seat is in fact a proper 924 seat, can I replace the back with a part from an early 944? _________________ -----------------------------------------

Ugh, that early backrest no eBay looks perfect...except for the fact that it's the passenger side
I definitely have early-style seats, based on these photos. _________________ -----------------------------------------

Just to follow up, I found a driver's seat back on Ebay, early style. The cover pattern is different, but the color is right so I declared it close enough. If it bugs me I'll find a matching passenger side back and put that in too. I really don't think my seats are original to the car. When I bought it from BaT, there was a discussion in the for sale thread about it supposedly having sports seats (which they are definitely not) and when I looked up a seat restoration video to make sure I didn't screw something up when taking off the old seat back, the guy was doing 911 seats and they were exactly like the ones that came on my car.
Anyway, it's nice to be sitting on a proper seat now rather than bare foam with some wadded up hardened leather in a few places! _________________ -----------------------------------------
