I read on this board that you put the drill thru a piece of cardboard. It blocks the fluid from spraying at you.

I also read that either wearing a raincoat or a garbage bag keeps the oil from getting on you as well. LOL.

Doing it in a garage while it's raining will prevent you from getting rained upon.

I just did mine

it looks excellent..

tell ya what, if you take a hammer and pound the studs they go quite a bit further in than if you just push em... and stay in...

front was kinda a pain to get lined up correctly left to right, if you twist the piston in the shock ever so slightly it makes it very hard to slide the bumper on it and then adjust side to side because it rubs, a lot...

the shock shaft/stud whatever you want to call it that goes into the shock, the thing that you push into the shock housing, the part that bolts to the bumper.. idk

if you wack it in with a hammer (mine atleast) a few times it goes in farther and eventually bottoms out rock solid than if you just push it in, and when they bottom out they are definitely equal and stick in there pretty good...

if you drill em and then put em back on the car and pound them al the way in you can definitely tell the difference in sound resonance when they do hit bottom..

oh and for those that suggest welding them in place once you get them where you want them I would suggest tacking them first on the car with the bumper bolted to them because if you twist the part that bolts to the bumper even just a tiny amount they jam like wild trying to get the bumper on them and its quite a fine margin of error to get them straight enough for the bumper to slide on nicely and then be able to move it around to adjust...

if you weld these things just a tiny bit off your gonna be SOL

I actually couldnt push the stock shock in anymore and it seemed like some that I see are in further. It looked like the mounts would only be projecting about 2" or so.

yep wack em in, or put em in a press, or a vice...

thud thud thud and then dong dong dong when they bottom out
