Hi I just noticed this thread!

Anyway from my experience for the people "in the know" the 924 is a great, great car! In 2010 I was at the Nurburgring 24 h race with some friends from the Porsche Club Norway. They had some really interesting cars, a 964 Turbo, and 997 GT3 Clubsport, and a 993 Turbo S... - After the race we went to visit the Porsche Hospitality stand. When I told the nice Porsche-man at the stand that I had a 1975 911S, he didn't as much as look up. Then I told him of my son's 1984 924 - he straightened up and casually said: "Läuft Er" - "does it run"!! When I told him that the car is nearly as new, he almost gawked .-) He wouldn't believe me!

- Case is that these cars is very, very rare to find in a "nice condition" in Germany. The prices for nice cars are on the "up", and the interest is strong! I would think that the interest will be even stronger when the 944 now is starting to be a "youngtimer" - more than 30 year old.

I also had a similiar experience at the opening of a new Porsche Center (which also is the RUF "Center" in Norway) in eastern-Norway a little while ago. Some lucky chaps were lucky to win a ride in a new RUF R-turbo with RUF's test-driver, Hans Peter Lieb (father of Marc Lieb) needless to say he scared them "witless"...! Hans Peter was an incredibly laid-back and cool type of man, with a steely gace and he was really quite a character - naturally there was a lot of "nice" Porsches at the opening, but he was really cool about that too. - Until I told him that I owned a 924 Carrera GT. "Not a real one" he asked... When I confirmed that it was the GT nr 243, he was incredeoulous and shouted for his wife to come and meet me! He told me that he really was envious about me owning such a car. I saw from his expression that he really meant what he said!
Hans Peter was also very interested in my old 911, if it still had the original Bosch K-jectronic injection!!! This was clearly something special! I really don't understand that as people mostly find the K-jet a little of a "bad thing"nowadays. - Clearly the Germans do not.

In Norway, most people think of Porsche as the 911. Well, even Magnus Walker now owns a 924, a turbo. So be proud of Your cars

At least one Stuttgarter still likes the Toofah! I caught this one while I was wandering down to the city centre one morning...

(Sorry for the grainy pic's, it caught me on the hop and I was some distance away)
