Head gasket just went kaboom on the passenger side. Hopefully I can get it fixed on time for the trip....
Do I need to get the head machined or can I just slap a new gasket in? |

Depends on if your head got warped or not.
most likely can just put a new gasket in _________________ Riley

you shouldn't get too hassled unless you're painfully loud.
I still have an extra MSDS header and some etra bits and bobs (trailing arms, cams, etc) let me know if anyone is interested and i'll bring them along.
The RC plane sounds cool. Theres lots of open areas just outside the track where people routinely fly their planes/kites/etc. |
How much are you looking to get for the header? |

looks like I will be able to pop in for a while. The daughter has a basketball tourney on town at the same time. the car is in the garage, and Ideola has shipped the engine parts, so I will be bringing the truck |

$100. If you want it ceramic coated inside and out, there's a local place that will do it for $170-180, takes about a week. _________________ Stefan

|

So are most of you planning to camp? I was planning to camp there Friday and Sat then find a bed Sunday night before the drive back Monday AM.
I was just going to bring my tent and chair, but I was wondering if I needed to bring shade too?
So at the risk of making this an informal swap meet, I have a few parts I was thinking of dragging with me.
I have:
a 924s mid pipe that was used for track events (no cat).
A 951 Bursch cat bypass pipe.
a 951 intercooler with a repairable ding
1 set of weltmeister 200lb springs
1 set of weltmeister 250lb springs
18mm rear swaybar with droplinks and hardware.
951 intake manifold
951 drivers side motor mount with oil hose
924s starter
pair of Koni sport strut bodies. - Stefan's
All the above $20ea or swap for burger/fries/drink or ??
Then I have
my old 951 oil cooler with housing and short hoses for $40 or swap for Porsche swag or event tshirt? _________________ '88 924S 3L 6sp RedRat

Forecast is for the nineties and there's no shade on the grassy knoll. So some sort of personal shade should be sorted out. James and Shari brought an E-Z up last year that really helped and I had a sports/beach umbrella that helped as well.
BTW, I'll call dibs on the strut bodies and we can work out payment when you get there. _________________ Stefan

Over the weekend I put my distributor back together after finding out that the vacuum advance was kaput and could not find a suitable replacement so I pried the actuator apart and fashioned a new diaphragm from a industrial chemical glove. Also found the band that holds the aft muffler was broken and just finished welding that back together with a nice doubler so there is no repeat.
Right now I plan to leave Sat. morning, if someone wants to meet up for the drive down, I will betaking 522 to I-5 at Lakewood (just south of Tacoma) There is a McDonalds (Not eat, just meet) right off the freeway that would be a good place to meet.
James, is there anything out of the ordinary that we could bring? _________________ 1980 924 N.A. Monaco Blue owned since 1987

Anybody have a window relay they could bring to Portland? I think the number is 944-615-116-00-M100. The one I had in there was the older 321 919 505 relay with 4 blades, but the connector and the 924s diagram shows the 5 blade relay. No telling what the PO did....
I need this if I'm going to survive the Sunday drive in 80 degree weather. _________________ '88 924S 3L 6sp RedRat

Stefan - I think my 931 housing went to Paul a long time ago.
James - do you know the latest we can show on Friday night and still get in gate to camp? Failing that, when do they open on Saturday am? _________________ '88 924S 3L 6sp RedRat
