{edit} I mean "think" not "thing" {edit}

I would like to get your opinions and interest on a little something I’m working on.
In fact, I started working on this last winter and then put it a side because I was to busy with the 924/944 GTS headlight.
I tried to replicate the shape of the factory one below the grill.

If there is enough interest, I could spend some time on this during winter and try to have it ready for next spring.
It would only be available in black and go for around $65 shipped to CAN and US.
This is only a rough estimate and not a confirm price.

Let me know what you thing, beside the little trimming problem I had

Thanks

Wow!

That's the first one I've seen that doesn't look totally tacky.

If I had a need for one (which I don't currently), that one would be the only one on my list.

How hard would it be to angle those towards the driver about 15°? Sort of like the early 240Z look? They'd be easier to see and give more accurate reading for the driver.

They make angled rings you can add behind the gauges to tilt them to your needs.

I'd be concerned about visibility in direct sun, but that's easy enough to test.

Any thoughts about adding another gauge in there or selling them blank to accommodate whatever we might want to mount there?

I will check if I can do something about that.

I have a set in the mail, I will test fit them when they get here.

Do you mean a third one or a different size/diameter one?
No room for a third one.

Sure, I can sell them uncut or 1 hole cut and 1 not, so you can mount what you want.
I might be able to sell them without the 2 round shapes, flat surface to mount a GPS or whatever.

Thanks

I still have to work on one of the mould as I’m not 100% happy with the fitment but it’s getting there.
If this come trough, you could order one or both pods uncut, I left one pod uncut to show you what it looks like. This was point out to me by a member.
This way you could mount a manual boost controller, shift light, different size gauge, etc…

This thing might be ready before spring
I still have some tuning to do on the moulds, but now the bottom of the pod reaches the edge of the opening.
Just to be clear, only the pod will be for sale, gauges will not be included

Thanks

Have you notice the time on the clock?

I’m afraid that’s out side of my skill set
But you could use something like this on the top of it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Car-Surface-DIY-Stick-Black-3D-Carbon-Fiber-Vinyl-Sticker-63cm-x-200cm-25x80-/181013781024?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a25431a20&vxp=mtr

Will the finished unit have pins to fit the oem mounting points?

I haven’t decided how to mount it yet
I tough about using the OEM mounting point or maybe just using a bit of black adhesive / sealant.
It wont need a lot of force to hold it in place

They look really good - I was thinking of doing a similar thing but since some one else has done it and it looks neater than what I'd end up with. I think I could be keen in one - just post to New Zealand could be the killer ( a brown one would be nice as well)
