Food for thought joe, since you see to be adept with fiberglassing how about using that console as a mold for vaccum bagging in fiberglass?? I think you could produce something very nice and light

i dont get you guys....

yea Joe can work with wood very well....yea that console does not look bad. but it looks not straigth to me...anyway....it does not look bad.
BUT the factory console looks good...and i think it weighs about 400-500grams.

why build another one? just so you can say custom made?

Because the OEM units are brittle and prone to cracking???

I put a cubby from a Honda in the radio slot of my stock console. Holds my phone, etc.

Rip your CDs to MP3 and load them on your phone/mp3 player and plug it into the radio.

Also the door pockets work pretty well

Really... wow. Fiberglass is spendy i dont know if ited be worth ot money wise. I could comfortably make a mold for 60 bucks in material.
photobucket is giving me the fits.

The wood king is triumphant, even though im more of a drywall steel framing carpenter. I got this idea for from raised rear seat trayy, ill
cut and fit some metal mesh underneath the bottem or on top of the bottem. Its has raised sides so anything thats tossed back there should stay put. pretty wild huh. I also sanded down the rear tailight back cover...

... this is just a test i dont know if ill roll with it yet.

next is to to pull the sub and 6x9s and give the rearseat area speaker setup a going over.
