I have an '82 924 with about 74,000 miles. When I bought it there was some clicking coming
from the area of the cam cover. I suspected that the valves needed to be adjusted and I did that.
Now there is still some noise (although somewhat less). The noise seems to become louder
after the car has warmed up.

When I adjusted the valves I did it with the engine cold. Was that a mistake? Are you supposed
to adjust the valves with the engine hot? Also is it possible that the noise is from the injector
and not the valve.

Typically once a car is broken in you want to check them when the engine is warm.

But wanted to ask. How was the wear on the cams and followers?

The noise might be insufficient lubrication, or it might be totally normal. Anyway just
wanted to note that you should closely inspect the wear any time you have the cover off
also inspect the plastic elbow at the oil tube feed end to make sure it has the proper
fit and not leaking.

There are many here that have replaced this part, and or used sealant to get a good seal
for proper cam lubrication.

That's interesting. I'm starting to see why you have such a bad attitude. I bought that part, at the dealer, for $4 or $5. Maybe your closest dealer is a scam artist?

Part number is 052 115 707

Demand and supply, california has a ton of people with 931s, Edmonton Alberta Canada has none, demand is low, prices go up.

Didn't i tell you what my dealer does with teh new cars on the lot? They autocross them during lunch and after hours and sell them as new cars.
