Rob i posted the same problem about a year age and some one from the 924 garage saved me big!!!
If you have'nt already replace the fuel pump relay- even if you hear the pump prime when you turn the key, like i said you have the same symptoms ,The fuel pump relay costs $82.25 for your year and model thats new from -www.performanceproducts.com , i was lucky and had a good relay in my parts car , soory i used it or i would have sold it to you.
I'm parting out a 1980 924turbo, so keep my e-mail address handy.
THANKS AND GOOD LUCK
JEFF PUGH

I would change the following. All grounds and this is really cheap.
Replace check valve at the in tank fuel pump.
Replace the fuel pump
Replace the fuel filter
When you remove the fuel pump, drain the gas tank. You will be surprised at the amount of sludge that comes out of it. I took about a half cup of rust. First remove the fuel sending unit, disconnet the battery first, remove the fuel pump. Filter the gas you took out and put it back in to flush the tank. I did this about 3 times.
I have not had a problem since. Cost about 150.

Robert, my '82 931 did something similar a while ago. After checking all my wires and fuel lines, the problem turned out to be a loose connection at the ignition control module under the dash just to the right of the gas pedal. I unplugged it, plugged it back in and she has run like a champ ever since.

Robert, somehow my reply got mixed up with larso's; maybe we posted at the same time. Any way, I had a similar problem with my '82 931 a while ago. It turned out to be a loose wiring connection at the ignition control module. When I unplugged it and plugged it back in the problem disappeared. She has run like a champ ever since. Good Luck.
