If it is from the recirc valve, maybe it stucks halfway. I had a problem where the old gasket in the valve just melted and smered along the walls of the valve piston. Made the valve stuck open, no sound though but no boost either. Solved by buying a new gasket from porsche. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

It only squeals toward the top of the boost range, then stops as soon as you let off. It just started over the weekend. _________________ Jim Baldwin

Any chance it's a loose/leaky wastegate control line?

This turned out to be a loose connect at the bottom junction of the boost tube. Tightened the two bolts, now its fine.
