Hey Guys,

As you have probably realized by all my moaning about parts, there is no Porsche parts store on the island.. What other makes/models use the same oil filler cap as the 924?

The seal in mine is as hard rock and leaking quite heavily, doh.

I think you should bring yours into a store with you. Im fairly certain that it is sort of a generic part. I think this style oil cap is used in lots of cars.

1) Find the part on an online retailers' site to get part number/s. (I found "Stant ST11079" and "Beck-Arnley 016-0082".)
2) Do a websearch on each, one at a time.
Found that the same cap fits a variety of VW, Audi, BMW, & probably more..
Some VW Jetta, Touareg, and Golf that use it -

FWIW, I bought one of those ugly plastic ones and took the seal off for use with my factory cap. . .worked like a chahm.

Yep, I did the same as Rasta.

Only, I had polished mine before hand. A bit of sanding and then a little polish and it looks very nice.

Duh!! Why didn't i think of that. I just put the ugly plastic (Jetta i think) cap on. Gonna swap the gaskets tomorrow.

I loved the classic cars on Malta. Mainly MK 1 Escorts and Minis. Great.

I've been buying parts for my MKIII VWs from a couple of places, and they sell the oil filler cap gasket separately.

One place charge about $1.80, and the other place is less than $1 from what I remember.
