I have to use it to find out what's happening with my kids and grandkids.  Actually, the only friends I allow are relatives and old school mates.

+1. I resisted it, but when my son shipped out to Korea, it really has become about the best option to stay in touch with him. Can't call in to him, and he never checks email, but he's on FB all the time.
