The past few days the 924 has been behaving badly with starting up. At first I thought it was heat from the sun, as I've been having it outside the office, but even in shaded garage it takes a while to start up. I will usually turn the key once to let the battery warm-up before I start it up, but sometimes this is no help. When it does start up, I give it some gas, but it doesn't seem to be taking it correctly, and the car shakes and rattles for a few seconds and then it will startup fine. What's going on? What should I be looking at here? _________________ 1979 Porsche 924- Snailshell

Could be your cold start valve maybe?
Check if it gets 12v during startup. If not, maybe your thermo time switch is gone.
If it does get 12v, remove the csv and check if it sprays. _________________ 1980 924NA ROW |

Also, squirm under the rear of the car and follow your fuel line from tank to pump to accumulator. If the accumulator is leaking, it would explain some of your trouble. Look for a dark patch around the screw in the bottom of it.

I just fixed my 79 for a similar issue. As mentioned it could be you CSV, a real quick test to see if its doing anything is to un-plug it; mine wont start cold with out it (no matter what).
My problem (as with many) is that the WUR plunger was stuck causing a very rich condition. It's not hard to clean just pay attention to how it comes apart and don't drop anything; that plunger is very small and easy to lose (ask me how I know ).
There is a write up here somewhere, just do a search for it. _________________ Rick
