Noticed a leak from the fuel pump today on my 924, but it doesn't appear to be fuel but oil.
It's on the tank side of the pump right where the hose connects to the pump after the small filter.
Is there any oil contained in the pump itself? _________________ 1977 martini 924

I thought they were lubricated and cooled by the gas passing through them, hence why they burn out so quickly if you run the tank dry.
Only oil product anywhere near the pump is the CV grease and transmission oil. I can't see how either of those could get near the fuel pump.
Could be old gas sludge leaking out, or a disintegrating rubber hose belching out its internals?
Either way, new fuel pump and all associated hoses is probably in order. _________________ 1987 951 - M193 Version for Japan |

Nope.
It's lubricated by gasoline.
You're probably looking at a really slow leak. _________________ 78 924 NA

Cheers guys, it looks like a thick blob of dark oil seeping from the pipe into the rear of the pump - i'm going to clean the tank out and see what's what. _________________ 1977 martini 924
