I am really going back and fourth with my car, just trying to decide what the hell to do with it {keep it/ kill it}. Does anyone know of this could be used on a 924 NA? If I go this route, I don't want to spend 3k CAD on a real one.

According to MR Hussey 924/944 Tech Tips, The intercooler from the 951 can be adapted, to the 924. _________________ Life is to short to be looking for something? |

Shouldn't have put the NA in there.

| well then, if it's for a turbo, any intercooler (executed correctly) will be a benefit. |

Do you mean 931...924 is too amibigious. Since your car is non turbo but with a GT kit, it is hard to steer you in a direction.
But.
Yes the 951 intercooler is an excellent upgrade for the 931, not for the faint of heart though.
It has been done and there are resources on the web and here of course. _________________ Bob Dodd - 924turbo@cox.net

Well excuse me for jumping in... but why would you bother with the 951 unit unless you have one laying around?
Their are a lot of different Intercoolers available, especially used. A Favorite of mine is the T-bird unit, it looks basically and is very close in shape design and function to the Carrera GT unit, since you are doing a clone....
Well anyway, in a few hours I will post pics of one for you to look at.
But with simple mods... you could set one up and have it very close to a carrera GT.
Besides its a super simple install...
Even for the 944.... You could mount something else in the nose.. like a better oil cooler.
Then again you could mount up two units... an intercooler and aftercooler... or go to a water cooler setup and mount the radiator/coolr for your water in the nose... lots of possibilities...
The 951 mounting location requires a lot of ducting... |
