I have been pouring through all the manuals and online sites I can find but have not been able to find what I am looking for. Maybe you guys can help. How/Where does the Engine Hood release cable run? Pictures would be great. I want to run this properly and make sure that it does not get caught up in the steering rack. Any and all help is much appreciated, as always.

Cheers;

The cable runs through a dedicated hole (with a grommet) in the firewall, and then right along the frame spar, past the shock tower, and under the airbox (on an NA).

You have to feed the cable UNDER the supports for the shock tower, which you can see in this photo of my Club Sport engine bay if you look closely. On the 931, it is literally fed through the bracket that holds the expansion tank, which keeps it flush up against the frame spar.

This next photos shows the opposite side shock tower supports a little more clearly, and you can see how there is a space at the base of each support up against the sheet metal. This is where you feed the cable (but obviously on the opposite side).

I've never had issues with the hood release getting tangled in the steering shaft, but I have had them get caught up in the headlight assembly. I usually have a couple of extra zip ties handy to prevent this from happening.

Thanks Ideola. Looks like I am missing the routing piece for the cable. Looking at the engine bay of my '24, I have no routing plate. Time to improvise.

Mike,

The 924 NA doesn't have a routing plate. Only the 924 Turbo has one.

Just run the cable through the strut tower braces and into the hood latch, which is exactly how mine is routed.
