Hmmm, I didn't know they changed the trailing arms in mid '85. Interesting.
Anyway, yeah, the dash is the giveaway. If it looks like your 924, then it's an early 85. If it looks way more up-to-date ... |

| Wouldn't either one work for a 5-lug/disc brake conversion? The wheel offset didn't change until '87. |

Rear hatch struts are easy. They don't have to be compressed like the hood struts do.

924, 944 (early and late), and 944 turbo are all the same except for the turn signal cancelling ring, which can be swapped easily.
911 is different from 924, etc. The splines are different.
