That is correct for early (1976-8 ish). The rear hatch light will only come on with the 3 position switch with lights on. Later ...

Dribbling injectors at low flow? Poor spray pattern?

got brand new injectors, rebuilt the fuel distributor and got new fuel filters and fuel pump. The car runs nicely when it's warmed up.

Smoke test for vacuum leak

I checked the rubber/plastic intake boot thingy and that doesn't leak. Neither does the intake manifold gasket have a vacuum leak. I'm baffled.

Boot light is controlled (as far as I know) by a sliding switch on the base of one of the hatch struts. It has a short somewhere, causing the contact to open and the light to come on.

I've read abo ...

Hi all

All interior lighting works in my 924 except for the boot light. The switch has 3 positions. One of them turning the light off completely. The other two seem to be doing the exact same thing ...

Guys guys... just because your cars are old ( vintage? ) doesn't mean they can't be made to run properly.

WildP1, if your warm idle is at 1000rpm and your cold at 700, check your Aux a ...

Hi all

I adjusted the fuel mixture today so that all exhaust values are to spec. It runs and idles nicely when warm at around 1000rpm or so. It's an early 1976 Porsche 924.

But when I start it ...

There are 2 screws governing idle and mixture, the idle is controlled by a screw on the throttle body and mixture controlled by a screw on the fuel distributor, both should ideally be adjusted by usi ...

I would start with connecting CIS gauges and monitoring fuel pressures. Most likely warm up regulator issue. It controls system pressure.

Will have a look at this, thanks!

Thanks!
The spray patter didn't look too bad. I'm thinking it might just be timing related.
What is the control pressure supposed to be? I measured it once but didn't exactly know if the values we ...

My 2.0 NA 1976 924 has a really rough idle and runs rough below 2000rpm. It gets better when warm but still is nowhere near perfect. The whole engine is shaking. As soon as I go over 2000 RPM it is re ...

Thank you for the reply! Will put it in general discussion next time.

The timing and the distributor gap should be set correctly. I double
checked the timing with a timing gun too.

Hello all,

My 1976 NA 2.0 924 has a rough idle. Compression is good. After I found and fixed a bad vacuum leak it ran okay in all RPM, though the idle was never below 1000RPM and when adjusting the ...
