There is a 924S and a 924 S, the 924S has the 2.5 engine (86-8 and the 924 S has the 2.0 engine.

That's Norwegian plates. It's originally registered in Bergen, but it could be anywhere now, as numbers are issued only upon initial registration.

I haven't seen a plastic cover that covers the cam on any of the three 924 engines I've seen, and not on my spare head & block from an Audi either.
