The links doesn't work, but I would guess the issue is in tie rods or ball joints or loose bearings (to much play). The bearings might be an adjustment issue.

Porsche never overstates (overstated?) their performance numbers. But I think most of it might be the tires. You probably have a lot better grip than what was delivered by the stock tires in 1987.

I think those wheels makes a promise of perfomance a 924 can't deliver on. I also don't think the US styling cues of the wheels mix well with the Euro styling of the car.
