Well said dpw. Even my kids are past the pimply-faced teenager stage. It's getting pretty anal for a Porsche owner to bag a Porsche model. And there are worse parts bins to use than VW-Audi..

Yep..part numbers confirmed, altho the timing cover gasket was 060-198-025 (no -1).

Thanks for the part number Smoothie..I found a rubber grommet that fitted fine so that'll do for now.

Relax Joe..I think this hole is so you can separate the drive shaft when you pull yr trans, but I might be wrong.

jpab..don't really. Freeze or frost plugs I thought are usually metal caps that are hammered/glued into casting holes in the block. I'm sure originally the trans had a metal cap too. A rubber plug wil ...

My sunroof hoses and hatch drains are just dumped into the holes..no grommets. Never smelt any fumes yet.
