Anyone ever try to mold their own carpet for the front and rear. I got some black carpet for a really good deal and i am about to do it. Anyone have any experience? _________________ 90 944 S2

I did it with a Duster I had when I was in High School. It turned out really well but the floor contours were not as intricate as a 924. I don't think it would work very well on our cars. After installing a PITA, POS 'custom' set from Ohio Automat(from Performance Products), I think the thing to do is either pay the $600 for German OEM carpet from Worlduph.com or clean and dye the ones you have now. Mine had holes in the driver's area so it wasn't an option. _________________ Dan Flanagan--2002 VW Jetta TDI, 83 Mercedes 300D,83 Mercedes Euro-240D |

Because the PO decided to cut a hole in the battery tray(my guess is battery cutoff switch) i had a nice water leak. Also when i washed the car, i noticed a nice, huige pile of foamy soap on the carpet. My carpet is moldy and in some places really really crusty. Cleaning and dying is not really an option. This carpet doesn't want to come clean, i have tried many a time to. _________________ 90 944 S2

| you can buy some velcro from the fabric or craft dept of walmart , to hold the carpet down . its peel and stick . other wise the carpet will move around and bunch up under the pedals ,thats a bad thing. |

I have the stuff u spray on the back and let it sit, then it is like sticky so you can take it out, but will still hold it to the floor so it doesn't move. _________________ 90 944 S2

I tell ya what
Go to a detailers supply store, (not like, pep boys, or checker) and buy a gallon bottle of a cleaner called super 11. it's yellow-green in colour, almost flourescent. take that, and the carpets outa your car. take them to a pressure washer. spray the 50/50 super 11/water mix on your carpet, let it sit for about 3 min, then hit the carpet with a clean water from the pressure washer. I bet it'll come clean. and it's not like you are losin a lot, super 11 is $10.00 a gallon. it cleans ANYTHING. I use it on my wheels, carpets, door panels, whatever. It's not so great on 15 year old paint, but on newer cars, it'll pull the bugs right off. it's good stuff. try that before ya try molding (hehe) the new carpets. _________________ werd B. |

I already got a roll of carpet sitting in my room. it was on sale, only $40 for me to do the front. My old carpet is rotting. I can't keep it. _________________ 90 944 S2
