| I just bought a rear seat for my 77 924 to replace the torn one. I was wondering how one goes about dismantling and replacing the rear seat? |

The top part should be obvious to you as it is simply bolted on each side. Hopefully, the new top came with the carpet piece as it is a PITA to swap the carpet (hope you have a staple gun). It is just a couple of screws to swap the cargo cover from one top to the other.
The bottom of the back seat is simply glued into place with some metal clips holding it at the top. Remove the clips and simply peel that sucker out. I used a spray adhesive to install the new one.

Thanks Stu,
Actually when I bought the car it didn't come with the top part of the seat and no cargo cover. Does the top part bolt to the sides of the car? Also, do you happen to know what size bolts? |

Yes, the top part has a bracket at the bottom on each side and bolts into the holes that should already be there on each side of the car.
I'm sorry but I don't know the size of the bolt but as I recall it isn't very big, about the size of the bolt that holds the seats I think (same bolts?). _________________ -Stu

Its about 3/4" to 1 in Long with about 1/4" of smoot shank for the back seat to piviot on plus a dime sized washer. That is if you are looking to replace the bolt _________________ Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. And moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.
