-- informations of my Race-Car:

It's an original 924 Carrera Gt (937) '# 93ZBN700307 ...
With original PU-Fenders. I changed the motor to a 951-engine, because the the 937-engine was too sensible for race. The combination 951 M-51/937 Porsche just homologated by FIA since 1981. I don't start in the 2l-class, because there's a turbo-factor x 1,7....
By the way: I have to start in the highest class anyway.
(STT, Divinol-Cup, Porsche GTP)
The car-weight is 1000kg and all modifications are self-made (by myself).

Kind regards,
Uli

hi @all

i'm know also our friend Uli, and i was there when the "original old machine" of the 937 blow up. This engine is not "time-fairly" for doing races. so he decided to modify the original 937 Carrera GT and spend him a new a modified engine of a 951. The car has less than 1000 Kg and run like a "rocket"

everyone of you is gladly invited starting from march this year on the http://www.anneau-du-rhin.fr Rheinring (France) in our "Testdrives" to convince itself.

btw: im also a owner of a original 937 Carrera GT but this car has never drive into a race. For this "Fun" i have a 951 Turbo with a "little" upgrade on the engine.

You can tell it's a PU fender due to the distortion yet the shape is still recognisable not twisted and folded like steel would go.

If it was steel after a hit on the wall the steel would be buckled. I run fibreglass fenders on my car and a similar hit by a 911 on my right hand fender saw it buckle but once the inner guard was given a tap with a hammer the fender went back to orginal shape (with a few stress cracks) steel just folds up

To me it looks like steel as I've seen enough of them fold up like that too.

I was assuming it was steel versus fiberglass as the outcome is obvious.

I never imagined someone would be running a original 937 with 951 gear, I didn't even notice the rear flares until later.

Of course in Germany where these cars aren't as rare it makes sense.

Hi Zuffen

You are not right with those what you say. This kind of care are realy rare also in germany and into the whole europe. you will never finde a care like a 924 Carrear GT where you can buy @ the moment. And if you finde one, after month/years of searching you will spend a lot of money to buy it.

If i look into the switzerland, in 1981 35 cars was imported in my country. now into the 2003 we have 10 of this care where are still runing. The rest is on the scrap iron place

All I was intending to say was that the 937 even though rare, can at least be found, even if expensive.

There are probably only 10 to 15 in the entire USA (if that), in fact there are probably more GTRs in the states than GTs. I've only seen two come up for sale in the last ten years! And I've been hunting for that long.

If I could I would have a GT for the street and one for racing, of course if I were that rich I would also have a 968RS and a 951 track car.

I've looked into importing a GT to the states and with shipping and the licensed importer it would add another 3 to 4 K dollars minimum to the initial cost of buying one. I've seen them for a low a 12,500 US and as high a 25,00US.

I've given up on being able to import one for the moment.

Please post more pics and let other 924 GT owners know about us, we sure love to look at them and here stories about them.

Hi Guys !

After recovering my account in this board, I would like to add a nice picture to the story. This is the damaged race car - just 2 weeks after that day...

To answer all the questions sent to me....No - I was not the guy behind the wheel of the GT . That was Uli. Yes - I was always the guy behind the camera....
