After installing a new master brake cylinder i'm having a long brake pedal travel.
I'f noticed an adjustment of the push rod length behind the brake pedal.
How do you adjust the brake pedal push rod at the brake pedal side?
Currently my brake start at the bottom of the pedal travel, despite a complete brake bleeding with no air that came out of it. _________________ Porsche 924 1983restored

Do you have rear drums? If so - those probably need to be adjusted... being too loose will cause a lot of pedal travel before the brakes engage, since you have to take up all that slack first... _________________ Vaughan Scott

Yes i have drums at the rear, but they have been adjusted for minimum play.
So the only thing that remains is the length of the push rod ( which is adjustable) to be checked for correctness. _________________ Porsche 924 1983restored

OK; per the manual, when brakes and hand lever are adjusted, pulling the park brake lever up two teeth should mean that you are only just able to rotate the wheels by hand... but they should be free when the handle is fully down.
As for the pushrod adjustment, "length from the bearing surface of the brake booster on connector (mounting part) to center of swivel joint shaft pin must be 186 +/- 1mm." _________________ Vaughan Scott

A long pedal suggests that there could well still be air in the system. Might be worth going round and re bleeding .
