Ho all!

I have a 1980 931 with g31 gearbox

Is It possibile to swap rear 951 aluminium arms?
Is It a straight swap?

At the Moment i have rear coilovers and no torsione bars

Anyone made this modify?

Thanks in Advance

You will find some of the answers in Ideolas old Performance Modifications thread.

I reinforced the upper brackets on my old race car as some of the 944 folks who had gone to coil overs felt it was necessary. I had the torsion bar +coil over system from GAZ. Unless you are a very good fabricator I think it is difficult to do well and the location of the brackets makes it more so. I had both the rear deck cut out and transmission out and and it was still a difficult location.

Like Mike said and here too. This might be helpful as well

The key is "early offset". This means the wheel mounts are closer to center of car or "sit in". Later offset 951 arms sit farther out for the wider width of the 944's

All 944 aluminum rear control arms are the same (early offset). The difference in offset beginning in 1987 is due to the projection of the hub.

Scroll to the bottom of the page in the link below and Ideola lays out the differences in halfshafts:

The 951 arms will push the wheel out about 1" and will also require longer axles...but they are stock 944 axles so not too hard to find. It is because of the bearing width/drive flange length.
