I put one in recently from mittlemotor, a very simple sheet metal thing. But apparently it works in their race cars. Was it that one or some more complicated trap door thing?

Mittlemotor made a couple of versions of it and had pics. I made one as I had some problems with the only fellow who makes crank scrapers. It is currently sitting on the shelf.

Bought two IJ crank scrapers 5-6 years ago. Minor fitting adjustments necessary but worked good. Bought 3 more last year and installed two in engines (after fitting adjustments). With engine in the car, found out that the dip stick couldn't be inserted in the engines. Turns out that the dip stick notch was cut in the wrong side of the two piece crank scrapers. Massive amount of work to pull pan with engine installed. Called the guy who built the crank scrapers and told him what he had done wrong (made our own adjustment to the third scraper). No apology from the guy, just "Uh, thanks for letting me know".
Not sure h0w helpful the crank scrapers are but I definitely recommend the "AcuSump over pan baffles. I did a bunch of the baffle flap work on BMW pans and none were as effective as an AcuSump for constant oil pressure.

Cedric did you take a picture?

Can't remember what the baffles were like but they looked proper.

I have crank scrapers here also. Been running them in my race engine for some 6 years.

I can send you a picture of what I did if you send your email. It was pretty near a copy of the Mittlemotor one. I had a crank scraper on my race engine and I believe it would have accomplished the same thing as the baffle. I saw one time where Mittlemotor had a combination scraper and baffle but didn't save the picture at unbelievable price. I made mine by just making cardboard patterns until I got it about right, it was a pretty strange pattern to get it to fit over the oil pump when putting it on the block and then of course the dipstick got in the way also. Probably about 10 cardboard patterns to make it work. I then made one from some alu diamond plate I had around and had it welded in.

I ordered 3 scrapers, and paid in advance, he sent one and didn't bother returning my money until much later when I requested it. In his defense he worked by himself and had some serious health issues at the time.

Ill just add that the IJ crank scraper couldn't be fitted at the same.time as the pan baffle, at least not without modifications
