Hey all, I am knee deep in a 931 engine swap and I've been stuck for almost 3 weeks now buying and returning clutches, and I need some HELP. I have a 1982 931/2, I am trying to buy a clutch for it, a 944 does not fit, I took the one off my base model 944, trust me I tried, I just need to know what WILL fit. A 944 turbo clutch definitely looks like it would fit but I can't tell until I buy one and I've spent about $150 so far shipping back returns so I'm not about to take a shot in the dark again.
JUST IN CASE THIS HELPS:
the bolt pattern is the same as the 944 pressure plate, but the plate protrudes out too far and won't fit, the flywheel is completely flat with no lip like a base 944 flywheel.
I'll venmo $20 to whoever can lead me to the clutch that fits
I would much prefer a kit rather than slapping a bunch of different part numbers together but if that's what I need to do so be it |

There are companies who repair&upgrade your clutch disk.
Take the old one to them and tell them to mod and repair that one. _________________ https://www.the924.com |

Old one is done in, there are a bunch of broken fingers on the pressure plate and I actually tossed the friction disc |

Isn't the issue that you have the US special s1/s2 mixed clutch/flywheel arrangement? So the 944/ 931 s2 kit won't fit. There should be threads around here on that subject. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

There's a pretty thorough section of this post https://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?p=218956#218956 which includes a section on clutches, with several links that might be helpful.. _________________ 1980 Porsche 931

im using a aluminum sachs pressure plate from a 911 sc and a 1988 ford aerostar clutch disc. any 911 fitted with a 915 gearbox will have a compatible pressure plate and a 944 throwout bearing and pilot bearing will work.
