Hello, i'm pulling my engine and ive gotten to the point where I need to hook the egine crane up. This will be my first engine pull and i'm very very worried I will hook up to the wrong points and do some serious damage.

I weber carbs so I don't have the stock intake. Can I remove the carbs and hook plates up the the intake studs?

Is m8 bolts too small to put weight on?

as additional info I have a crane leveler with 4 chains to bolt onto the engine. and will be disconnecting the engine at the torque tube with the 4 bolts. and pulling the bell housing off later.

(as another side note some people say you have to remove the crossmember some don't. is this true?)

Yes, you can use the carb and exhaust studs (8mm) for lifting the engine, just snug up the plates to the head so that the studs won't bend.
You will need to remove the radiator and it helps to undo the crossmember.
Enjoy
