I have a 1981 924 with 2L engine. I have had problems with hot starting. I have a couple of the pierburg valves. One is stuck, the other one rattles and does move when electrified.
Question 1: does it matter which wire yellow/red or brown/white goes to which terminal on the valve?
Question 2: I want to clean the valve. I have an ultrasonic cleaner on its way to me. Does anyone have experience in cleaning these valves? I suspect varnish inside. one valve does not rattle nor move with power. If you have experience I am curious what solvent was used and for how long? Most important, did it do the job? Those valves are not available as far as I know. Thanks for any information....ted
