Agreed. I need my fog lights. So I bought this harness on Amazon. The 30A fuse isn't pictured, but it's in there.

I also bought an original fog light switch here (It appears that 94461311100 is NLA from Porsche):

Searching on that part number I found a thread for Vanagon owners that have used this switch to control fog lights. Hmm good idea.

So I'll run the Hella Harness except use the original switch. Not sure if I'll be able to figure out how to make it dim with the instrument lights but that's fine.
Update: The Hella harness has a lighted switch with three wires:
black- ground
white - power in
blue - power out
For the Porsche switch I followed the directions below and it works great. In my case I have the power coming directly from the battery and I didn't connect the switch to the instrument lights. The dash lights are so dim I always have them all the way up, so the dimming feature isn't needed.

The fogs were connected at the two pole connectors near each of the parking lights. _________________ 1981 Porsche 931 w/S1 engine & g31 transmission. Water-cooled intercooler |
