Hi,
I just purchased a 924S project car, not running and need everything done, my first Porsche
What manual would you recommend for a 86 924S? Do you get a Haynes 924 and 944 and take what information fits for each, or what do you do? I can't seem to find any manuals for 924S.
Thank you

Get a Haynes manual for the 1982-1985 944. This will be the closest to the 924S.
HOWEVER.
The 924S is an "odd duck", particularly with the suspension. It has the front steel A-arms like a 1982-85 944 (sometimes referred to as 944.1) or 2.0L 924/931, but has the same aluminum rear trailing arms as the 1985.5-onward 944 (sometimes referred to as 944.2). Same applies to sway bars; it has 944.1 front sway bar configuration, and 944.2 rear sway bar configuration. There are probably some other things I'm forgetting.
So. To help sort through some of the things unique to the 924S, post here in this sub-forum, and also avail yourself of the "shop manual" at Clark's Garage: http://www.clarks-garage.com/shop-manual/repair-procedure-index3.htm _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Are the A-arms and sway bars interchangeable? Can I use the aluminium A-bars and front sway bars from the 944.2, and are there any benifits from that?
Thank you
