I have purchased a set of bushes for the shift rod coupling (964-424-223-00-OEM), which is the part number in the 924 parts list, from Pelican Parts.

The problem is that the hole in the bush is larger than the pin through the shift rod by a couple of mm. The bush fits snug in the shift rod coupling. The pin is the correct thickness, the same as that in the shift rod.

Is this correct?

Thank you in advance.

Is the hole oval? I had that aswell, i threw them in the bin since they were even worse than the old ones i took out, and tried the brass ones that Ideola sold, they are a bit noisy though, but made the shifting really nice. I havent found any bushing that are both plastic and tight, i will probably make a set out of delring or similar next time the box is out.

I havent really understood why they look like that..

The holes are round.

Looks like I may make a pair from Teflon if they all come out in strange dimensions.

Pelican Parts advise:

The Porsche design is not a perfect circle but rather an oval which was designed to have play in it to prevent load on the transmission.

That must be some kind of later thing, because the hole on the new ones were larger than the hole on the old worn ones.
