Fixed the altenator mounting today so i could drive it again. I need to replace rear drums because when i took a wheel off the threads came out too.. And i still got a lot of stuff to do for inspection like making it leaner, headlights point too up, and get paperwork for coilovers. Really hard to work on the time because im in military atm. |

Spacers on the rear would look nice!
Hard to find turbo mudflaps in good condition. The mounting studs are usually rusted out. |

I ordered a manifold from Danstengineering that looks like what you are using here. Great write up and can’t wait to install my yzf600r carbs. I have a question for you: what did you use to block off your injector ports? |

The fuel injector port plugs are a 24mmx1.5 pipe plug. The are available from McMaster-Carr, metric-thread.com, possibly on ebay. At MC not cheap about $10 each, get the ones that are put in with a hex key, and external head probably won't clear the head. _________________ Mike

Gaz Golds on mine for 11yrs now. Still with torsions as a 'helper' spring. Many racers/track 924+944 using them _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

Depends on your usage, but I would keep the torsion bars and use helper springs.
If you remove the torsion bars you should remove the spring plate rubber bushings. The tbars help to give some rigidity to the rubber bushings. _________________ /Magnus, Stockholm Sweden

GAZ suspensions are meant to be used as helpers. If removing the torsion bars you need a holder for the spring plate. The only ones I've seen are from Lindsey or Elephant racing and quite expensive. The rear springs interfere with the bottom shock holder on the trailing arm at full wheel droop. Disconcerting when installing them, but it is not a issue when loaded. The t-bar cast housing is quite a rough casting, fitting any bushing except the stock style takes several hours of fitting. Delrin ones can take a day or two, my Powerflex black took several hours each. I used a solid bushing with angular bearing on the trailing arm as it is the piece that both rotates thru an arc and changes its angular position, the TB spring plate just rotates. _________________ Mike
