My 924 is fairly clean und3r the hood but... cleaner is needed for car shows and it appears to be a daunting task.
First, what can I clean the "spotted" tired looking cast alum with? (No grease just age spots)
Second, there is some black dirt under the exhaust manifold on what I presume to be the "head", How do I get to that easily to clean?
Brings up another ? Is this engine a half of a v8?
Third, what tips do you have to share for this endeavor? _________________ Red '87 924s cherry (almost), love it! |

Brake cleaner and toothbrush is a nice combination to get stuff clean. Chrome polish paste can solve alot of problems aswell.
Its half of a 928 engine, kind of _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

Any aluminum part that can be removed can be vapor honed back to original forging condition; i.e. looks brand new. _________________ 1979 924 NA race car

Look into dry ice cleaning. Works really well and won’t damage plastics or rubber. |
