Hi guys, Im new here and this is also the first time i've worked on a car (im 18 ), so please forgive me if I ask dumb questions.

I recently bought a 1982 Porsche 932 (Turbo right hand drive) that is in pretty good condition despite not being driven in 5-6 years. It cranks but does not start, there is no spark at the spark plug or the ignition coil. The tachometer also isn't moving as the engine cranks, so I suspect that the crankshaft position sensor may be faulty? Again, I am new to this so any help in diagnostics would be appreciated.

I wanted to test the sensor with a multimeter to check, however I cannot find this sensor for the life of me. from my research online I think should be at the back of the engine above the flywheel, however if anyone could show me an image of where the sensor is, or provide some more detailed description of where it is, that would be much appreciated.

That sensor is bolted through the leading edge of the bell housing, immediately above the cut-out where you can view the timing marks on the flywheel. Looking from the cabin towards the front of the car, it is at about 10:00 on the bellhousing.
