Hi,
Well l'll be damned if I can figure out how you can screw a number plate to the front of a 924S. I can't see how to get access to behind the panel where it sits.
Any help greatfully received. _________________ Lover of all things Porsche

A metal bracket is bolted to the bumper. It is difficult but possible to get a hand up the back of the bumper to get the nuts on or 5mins and the bumper is easily off to do it on the bench.
The number plate is then fixed to the metal bracket from the front using the usual plate screws+nuts. The same metal bracket is employed on the rear of the car.
This said, I have seen many a car with self tapping screws liberally employed into both ends adding numerous and un needed holes!!!! _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

Thanks for reply. I think our UK cars may be different. There is no bracket on front or rear, just holes. Or do you mean the bracket is within the bumper? _________________ Lover of all things Porsche

All UK cars would have had a metal bracket bolted to the bumper. The plate was then attached to the metal plate. The plates are still available from Porsche if you don't have one/two. Many have been removed by previous owners and self tap screws or double sided tape employed.
The new version which needs a bend at each end to mimic the original

I don't have either of them! PO must have ditched them. Rear plate is bolted into the holes that would hold the brackets. Front plate is stuck on. Thanks for info! _________________ Lover of all things Porsche
