Am I correct in thinking that I cannot use a remote solenoid with one of the gear reduction starters I got from Ideola?

I contacted IMI and they said that the power has to route thru the solenoid on the starter so a remote solenoid would merely activate the starter solenoid. I have now eliminated the remote solenoid and will get a post to mount on the firewall to tie the positive connections together. I used the positive side of the remote solenoid for the alternator output tie as well as the power to the MSD ignition box. Amazon has the post for about $8.
