Sorry for asking this kind of question but I'm so busy I don't really have time to take my car to bits and find out.
What route do the wires for the passenger side headlamp take? I've got an intermittent passenger side dip beam and there's no voltage from the wire. I think there's a break/short/fray somewhere but I'm not sure the routing of the cable.
... And no, it's not the fuse or the relay. They're both fine. |

They cross over to the drivers side by routing under the "nose" of the car, behind the bumper and up near the badge panel. They join with the driver side headlight wires and together go to the wiring harness which runs along the drivers side frame rail and through the firewall to the relay board. _________________ 1981 924 Weissach edition

Be aware that in the UK the "driverside" is the passengerside in Canada _________________ 911SC - 1980 |

My bet is the white connector block at the back of the fusebox. How solid is your battery tray from corrosion and/or water ingress? Unlikely (but not impossible) to be broken between the connector and the lamp, its embedded within a larger amount of wires. Once out the fuse box the wire goes directly through the firewall and along the chassis rail to the lamp. Just before the lamp there is a spade junction 'box' where the joints can corrode. It will be hanging out the lamp or hidden just inside. Just tug the wires a little and it will pop out. Other check is the earths above the fusebox and below the lamp. _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife
