Hey guys. I just got a brand new fuel distributor and airflow sensor. Now I'm having an issue with it cutting off after about 3 seconds. I checked the vacuum and it's all intact. It won't even stay running when I give it gas. Fuel pump is new. So is pretty much everything else except the fuel accumulator, thermo time switch and the warm up regulator. I'm pretty much restoring this 82 but I'm at a standstill for now. Any help would be great.

I have the same problem actually. New FD, New pump, Filter, Lines, etc. I believe it is the ignition switch. As soon as I take it out of the 3rd position with the key it dies with no give. It might be the same with you but id be curious to see your solution.

Does yours run at all before it cuts off? I'm really tempted to buy an ignition switch just to see if it works.

It did twice before some more replacements... Only around a 500 idle though and then die. I would replace it to be safe though.

Also, before that check you fuel to air ratio.. After replacing all that stuff there is bound to be something off.

How do I check that? I know how to adjust them but not sure how to check to see if they are anywhere close.

WELL from what i've seen its just a bunch of tinkering. Theres a little hole between the dizzy and MAF. An Allen wrench is needed to adjust a small screw up and down. KEEP TRACK OF THE AMOUNT OF TURNS SO YOU CAN GO BACK

Hmm.. Right now I'm having an issue with the Fuel dizzy not cutting on when I'm trying to start it up... I wonder if I richen it a little and raise the flap a little bit if that would fix my issue here.. hmm..

Yeah probably.
Just to double check.. You did make sure your new dizzy worked as intended, right? They can be the biggest pains sometimes

Yeah, I know.. It already has been. Lol. I tested it by jumping the fuel pump relay and lifting up the flap. It did cut on. I just don't hear it now when I am turning the car over to start. It's very strange. That's why I'm thinking o need to richen it so it will cut onwhen I'm trying to crank it.

I just read your previous post.
I think your dizzy is stuck. Before you said your engine was full of gas. That is because it was stuck open(atleast I think)
Your cold start is supplying the initial gas and then dying once it used it all or it has drowned
