Yes, I will allow porn in my thread..

All I can say is- Dude, it's gonna rip..
With a good IC, and if you keep the AFRs down, ya just can't blow it up no matter how hard you (I) try..

I've been running boost gauge buried... No news

It's been cold and wet.. The only thing rebelling is the ground..

It's gonna work..
I took a shot and didn't know it would work.. I just saw it in my mind.. But now I can confidently tell you that it's gonna work..

I'm gonna be gone all winter+.. Like.. If you wanna store my car out of the snow for the winter, I'll give it to you to copy, with the keys..
I'm sure I could depart from O'Hare instead of TC and have no doubt it would make it there..

Really thought, it's not that hard.. If my poor redneck ass pulled it off in a dirt floor shed made of house trailer parts, it should be a breeze to anyone with their own concrete..

Just make me a clean lower charge tube while you're at it

Needed to think about how to take a pic of the deal with Morghen around

I'll PM you and I should be able to help you with the charge tube

You should be in sales

Does it help that I have a S-10 with a 384 v8 (0.040" over 383) ?

Oh you guys are into some shady deals over there

Nowadays I fancy hopping over the pond more than ever...reasons.
After corona wears off I'll come take a look...been saying I'll visit Leigh for ages and he's been here twice now.

The soo for a week sounds fun in the winter, but only for a week..
I’m hearing talk of being sent to Louisiana and San Diego..
FBI says I can go, now just gotta pass the doctor on Tuesday..

It’s snowed a few times here already and is supposed to snow all night tonight..
Plane tickets ASAP please..

Damn thing will not blow up..

Seems my 80 went to the same repair facility. Finally found it to share

Wasn't me!!

Mine didn't have any holes, just spots that looked thin/worn..

I did the whole diaphragm evenly with a layer of black permatex, paper towel thoroughly soaked/rubbed in, layer of black permatex..
(looks much prettier, no globs)

I use independent top port pressure for boost control.. Hand pump to top port (like an airbag helper spring)..
It holds pressure for weeks.. Might loose like 2-3psi worth of boost pressure per week if I don't give the top port a couple pumps of pressure every few days..

If I had a WG diaphragm leak, I'd know fast because my boost control would leak off immediately..

I am actually really liking this method of boost control because it acts just like putting a bigger spring in it rather than relying on boost to increase the spring presure, it is always there..

No I never bleed it down.. My car sits with air pressure on the top port all the time..

With what I have now I can only physically pump it up enough to about 25psi boost max because that's as hard as I can squeeze my pump..

I don't want to go back to a regulator for top port boost control..
I'm really liking the pump to top port pressure system and I plan to upgrade to a better pump and gauge on the top port pressure.. Eventually..

I have got rid of the gauge now, because I can pump way past that gauge and not get enough boost, have actually bent the crap out of this gauge overpressuring it, but it's like this, but inside the car..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Anv-SrWNB5w

Made it out of a blood pressure tester thingamajig..

So yeah.. I know darn well my WG diaphragm does not leak, because I'd know fast if it did..
If it leaked just a little, I'd loose ALL of my boost increase.. (I think)

Was for a bit, working for an interior designer's showroom(s)..
Did pretty good.. Some of the male customers that came often liked dealing with me specifically.. Pretty sure they liked me a little more than a little, but they spent a lot of money..

Snowed a lot today.. I75 was unplowed and it seems everyone forgot they live in Michigan because I was only doing like 60 (in the VERY unplowed passing lane) and passed like 100 cars.. In an RWD only vehicle btw

931 has no heater core so I had to retire it for this year (defrost matters).. (kinda, might still go for some rips)
It's in turn-key shape for spring..

shady deals

No way! I am a perfect model citizen, obey all laws at all times, pay as much taxes as I can, and trust the government very much!!
(drove all of 2020 with either 2019 plates or no plates at all )

Driving the M3 again now (because it has heat for defrost)
No license plates at all.. "Officer I have an appointment for plates on the earliest date available, January 12th at 3:30pm for plates.. Darn china virus.."
Running full coverage insurance though..

I hope I NEVER have to buy plates again EVER.. Their are upsides to this..

Been teaching the new GF to drive stick in the M3.. She thinks its fine to cruise at 5k rpm in 2nd because "I'm about to turn anyway", lol..
It can take it (make sure it is fully warmed up)..
She is really good at taking off slowly/clutch release (not hard on the clutch), but we are working on taking off faster with more aggressive clutching and more power out of the dig, to jump out there.. And shifting a lot more and a lot faster.. Going through gears faster/sooner..

931 is just too difficult and dangerous for a learner..
Shitty snycros + widowmaker boost lag.. No..

Manual driving is mandatory.. Bare feet preferred..
She is smart.. She will get it..

Trying to convince her into upgrading her DD to something like a manual Subie Forrester.. From a f****** KIA...
Work to be done.. KIA has to go, lol..

I do have a heater core in my 931, works great. Mine had been leaking; I swapped in a 944 core, switching end tanks old vs. replacement, to make the pipes fit. Easy to do, IMO; bend the tabs back off the plastic end tank, and then use a pair of long bar clamps to compress the end tank slightly onto the seals of the new core while bending the tabs back on to secure. No leaks.

And with the turbo providing heat, I find it gets warm enough in a hurry; only limitation is the really weak blower fan. One day I'll get around to monkeying with that...

Sorry, it was a long time ago, no pics. 'Cause yeah, it would be nice to document, and it'd lasted ages now.

Last logged run was maxing at 254 kpa and my post IC intake air temp went from a low of 45 degrees F and maxes out at about 95 degrees F through all pulls..

So, I think the IC handles it, but it won’t hold max boost to redline..
The higher I turn it up, the more boost I lose as RPM increases..
Pretty sure that means that’s all the turbo will do at those RPMs/volume flow..
Compressor, or that’s all the 4.10 turbine housing will eat.. Not sure.. Probably both..

The stock 944 K26/6 is the same as the S1 compressor but with a shorter exducer height plus you are running it through a 4.10 as well
